CLD PoE Tree in Air

Background :

PoE switch ( Power over Ethernet switch ) was invented around 1999.

For which IEEE laid down the specifications ~ IEEE 802.3af and so on.

PoE switch was designed to run various remote devices which are fed power also from this device alongwith the IP data link.

It was a generic product to run several type of IP devices which need very low to a certain level of power.

Example of devices it can run :

IP cameras , IP phones , IP sensors , IP controlled relays , IP LED lights , IP Speakers and many other standalone devices.

Facts and Problems of PoE switches :

In reference to IP CCTV cameras and the following are the 'Facts' and 'Problems' of PoE switches :

In standard PoE switch ...

Facts :

• It can run 1 camera on 1 port.
• Can run camera upto 100 mtr maximum.

( But practically it can run max upto 60-70 mtr only )

Problems :

Moreover , PoE switches cause these problems in IP cameras :

• Resolution Loss in all nearby cameras ~ which causes poor to very poor performance by all cameras.
• Resolution Loss & Frame Loss in cameras at distance ~ poor performance and Lag in videos of cameras even at 40-50 mtr away.

Still , for last more than 20 years , PoE switches are being used to run IP cameras worldwide.

Innovation :

Thereafter , our technical head , who is qualified from IIT Roorkee ( B.E. E&C - 1984 , M.E. E&C - 1986 ) invented an alternative and very revolutionary solution in 2023 to run IP cameras . .
